My wife and i came here for a night out. We had been recomended the Brew Table by the concierge at the Holiday Inn down the street. We had the steak frites and it was incredible. Cooked perfectly and the service was the best i have ever recieved anywhere. An amazing dining experience all around from appetizer to dessert. If you only have a one hour lunch then this is definitely NOT the place for you to eat at that time. We arrived and it was busy. The place seems cramped but it appearred to be clean. We had reserved a table for noon and waited a while to get seated. When the waitress finally made it to our table we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. It took a long time just to get our drinks and a very long time for our food. It ended up being an hour and a half lunch. Most other restaurants in the area offer a quick lunch so people can get back to work in a timely fashion. This is where The Wood falls drastically short. The food was good, this I will not dispute. By burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and nice also. Unfortunately the speed of service will have to keep me away from this restaurant. Read more

Five of my girlfriends and I decided to try out Woody's for dinner and cocktails as it came highly recommended by one of our foodie friends. We were promptly greeted at the door by a friendly server who showed us to our candlelit table beside a fireplace. My friends and I each decided to order a different cocktail or martini and try a few sips of each - my favourites were the Woody's Caesar and Dream Soda. For dinner I tried the dinner special - a generous half rack of pork side ribs with jalapeno apple bbq sauce, homemade creamed corn, mashed potatoes and a buttermilk biscuit, it fell away from the bone effortlessly and was cooked to perfection. I also had a bite of the sliders that my friend had been raving about and the combination of carmelized onion and brie cheese was delicious! We all had plans to go out to another spot after, but were having so much fun at Woody's that we decided to stay. I will definitely be coming back and would recommend this pub to anyone in the future. Read more

I came here for lunch a few months ago and was very impressed. We arrived just as the place opened up; the upstairs dining area had not been opened yet. Regardless, I asked if we could have a table on the upper level and the wait staff accommodated our request and opened up the upstairs area and we were given the option to have our choice of any table we wanted. We chose a table on the North side of the restaurant with a great view of the By-ward Market. My burger tasted a little dry but as I had never tried buffalo or bison before I didn't know if that was normal or not. Aside from that the atmosphere was so nice I probably would have even enjoyed a bad meal in that restaurant, sitting where I was. Read more
